Clubby, attractive spot with excellent service and tempting fare.  Try the wild mushroom and barley soup; sautéed Maryland crabcakes; garlic-crusted salmon; and pan-roasted leg of lamb.  Desserts are delicious.

Yorkville locals don't have to go far for good food.  At York Grill, a large mural of Modigliani-inspired characters presides over the action, and the figures seem to crane their long necks at the kitchen's creations, such as a moist chicken Dijonnaise, golf ball-size shrimp and buttery spinach ravioli.  Mashed potatoes accompany most entrees.  Desserts can make you forget your troubles, especially the fudge-crusted Mississippi mud pie.  Although it's out-of-the-way, the place has a with-it, upscale atmosphere and attracts many comely couples.
